The HCI Hyderabad January Meet up was organized at CA office and attended by professionals from various organizations including Satyam, Nuevora , CA , Kern Communications, ThinkDesign, e-Delve, Semantic Space, Innominds Software etc.

Following this, Afshan Kirmani, Usability Analyst from Kern Communications presented on "Quantifying Usability Analysis". She talked on how quantitative analysis is employed as part of heuristic evaluation.

The audience participated amply during the interactive presentation and discussed its advantages over the qualitative analysis as well as shared the methodologies used in their organizations. Since there was lots of interaction and interest from the audience end, therefore the 30 minutes presentation was extended to around 1 hour.

The talk was followed by an open discussion on the HCI-Hyderabad plans and activities for the Year 2007. Members discussed if HCI-Hyderabad should re-submot the petition for CHI affiliation or not!

Majority of the members present at the meeting were not in favor of any affiliation to CHI or UPA at this stage on grounds of maintaining the objectivity of the group.

Members also discussed on activities that can be taken by HCI-Hyderabad in this year. Many ideas and suggestions were put forward by the participants and many volunteers came forward to take up various activities/responsibilities.
